Southland provides technical assistance to nonprofit organizations and public agencies interested in developing a certified farmers' market in their community. Southland specializes in conducting feasibility studies for your organization or agency to assess the likelihood of developing a successful certified farmers' market in your community. Southland recently completed feasibility studies for the Cities of Pico Rivera and Compton, the County of El Dorado and the Pacoima Partners Nonprofit Organization. We also provide advise to existing certified farmers' markets on a range of technical, management and marketing issues. New Certified Farmers’ Market Openings

Southland Farmers’ Market Association will open several new markets in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside and Kern Counties this year. These markets are in partnership with Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers and are limited to certified growers and bakery products.

Southland is currently recruiting new growers for these markets. Preference will be given to local growers whose farms are in the same county as the market.

Year-round on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM

► Kern County:

Kaiser Permanente Bakersfield Medical Officers, Bakersfield, CA

Year-round on Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Opens April 22, 2010

►San Bernardino County:

Kaiser Permanente Ontario Medical Center, Ontario, CA

Year-round on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Opens Spring 2010

Note: The Market fee for these markets is a flat $40.00 per 10’ x 10’ stall space. 20’ x 10’ spaces are also available. Panorama City and Ontario will require off loading, Bakersfield will not, Non-agricultural product vendors fee is $60 per 10’ x 10’ stall space.
